I’m celebrating! Would you like to share my joy?

It’s a double celebration for me today – it’s not only Mother’s Day (my favourite day of the year by far!) but it’s also one year to the day since I started Mintaka Reiki in Sandbach.

It’s quite a coincidence really (although there’s no such thing as coincidence, as I explain in the Blog post below) – because there really would be no Mintaka Reiki had it not been for my mam.

My Journey With Reiki

Known as Betty, she really was the backbone of our family.

But then one day in May 2009, completely out of the blue, she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukaemia and given three months to live.

It was one of those surreal moments, completely earth-shattering, a time when nothing made sense. But as we were driving back from Leighton Hospital, still trying to process the news, I realised I needed to learn Reiki.

I didn’t even know what Reiki was. But I knew I had to find out.

Long story short, with the help of Reiki, and a clinical trial, mam astounded her doctors and her cancer went into remission. Sadly though, it came back, and two years after that initial diagnosis, mam died.

That was 14 years ago.

But my mam was such a huge part of our lives, and left us with so many beautiful memories, that as time has passed we’ve been able to leave behind the difficult days of her illness and just remember all the fun, love, and laughter instead.

I will, of course, be forever grateful to my mam for helping me to find a path to Reiki.

Without her, I don’t know if I would have ever discovered this life-changing, natural healing technique.

But I do know that, without my mam’s influence, on April 1st 2024, I wouldn’t have started Mintaka Reiki in Sandbach.

Thank you, mam.

And thank you to all my clients – and to those future clients I have yet to meet – for making these last 12 months some of the most memorable of my life.
